New to this, how do you meet women without being creepy?

Hi, I'm new to this, and looking for a friend to chat with.

I've been bi-curious for as long as I can remember, but call me old fashioned, I just like to take it slow AND because of my curiosity, I've always been awkward around ladies. I have NO idea how to meet girls, or how to react around them. Heck, sometimes I feel like a teenage boy. Is she looking at me to be nice or does she 'like me?' so I'm just a big goober.

So how do you strike up a conversation with a lady? How do you know she 'like-like's you?' without going to a bar? I'm not looking for a h--k--p, just a friendship that may blossom. . .. :)
