The Misunderstood World of Human Bisexuality Many people fear bisexuals, some even to the point of hating them. Sadly this has a lot to do with basic misunderstandings and a general ignorance.



We must start out by saying that nobody wakes up one day and decides to be a bisexual. It is very likely a genetic feature, or brought about by exposure to certain hormones while in the womb, or something brought about through early childhood experiences. Indeed bisexuality has been found to occur in males with an extra Y chromosome.

To understand what bisexuality is, it is not the sames as a hermaphrodite, which is a person who was born with both male and female parts. Nor is it a person who has unlimited s----l desires. A bisexual is simply a person who is se---lly attracted to certain people regardless of what gender they are. They may not be attracted to both genders equally, but can be attracted physically to people from either gender.

Assuming you are heterosexual and of normal hormonal levels, you do not necessarily find every member of the opposite S-- to be se---lly attractive. The same thing applies to people who are bisexual. They are not attracted to every single person. Nor are they more likely to be rapists than anyone else.

What seems to offend a lot of people is that some bisexuals flaunt their bisexuality. To be fair the heterosexual world often flaunts heterosexuality although they do not see it because they are so apart of it. People may object to see two women together, but bisexuals (and homosexuals) are swamped with images every day of men and women together.

Some organizations object to bisexuality on the basis that it is “not natural”. This is entirely incorrect. Bisexuality natural, it has been noted in many animal species, and has occurred in humans throughout history.

Some organizations then raise the issue about child rearing. Bisexuals can have kids, and often do.
