Devil's Advocate, Programmer, Historian Where to begin? I just moved up to the Sunnyvale area to start a job as a software engineer. I also just finished an M.A. in history, looking at modern European history and the history of games. I've been doing a lot of reading in critical theory lately, and I'm actually enjoying it. Something(s) must be wrong with me. Michel Foucault rocks my world. Also, I've been on a little bit of a modern art craze lately. It's fun stuff.

I grew up in Long Beach, which I visit fairly often since my folks still live there. I finished undergrad with a double major in comp sci and history. In general I'm much more interested in design than I am in the actual programming. I got a pretty rigorous math/science education, and it absolutely informs the way I think about history. In terms of hobbies, I love games, if not of all types then of most. I play a bit of golf, and am terrible at it. I'm also taking up racquetball--it's a lot of fun and great exercise, but as with golf I'm terrible at it.

I love talking about politics/culture, and arguing and debating about most anything. Playing devil's advocate is great fun. I'm very attracted to the Tories in Britain, and can't stand the current GOP, which unfortunately leaves me in something of a pickle around election time. You should ask me about it--but I warn you that I'll probably respond with more questions and "I'm not sure"s (what's the correct grammar for this, anyway?) than answers.

I'm looking for a witty conversationalist and a sharp thinker possessed of excellent grammatical skills. I enjoy discussing politics, philosophy, and religion, and hope that you do too! I tend to be more attracted to more masculine guys. I also love social dancing--especially blues, but I really want to get back into swing dancing, and maybe learn Argentine tango while I'm at it.
